Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create full electrical design packages including BOM, schematics, assembly drawings and layouts
  • Check & validate all final design documentation, parts lists, and drawings according to design & contract requirements, to ensure completeness & accuracy
  • Prepare documentation and scope of work instructions
  • Prepare electrical layout and detailed drawings and schematics
  • Write, test and commission PLC and HMI code
  • Perform electrical design of new products from concept to launch
  • Perform electrical design of existing products for continuous improvement
  • Follow through on designs to ensure proper testing/validation, implementation, and procurement
  • Collaborate with others in engineering, production, and service to help set priorities
  • Perform hands-on testing and validation on new designs
  • Assist in prototype building and development
  • Assist in sourcing and specifying third-party hardware
  • Review and interpret customer and vendor drawings and specifications
  • Interpret technical specifications & application parameters
  • Conceptualize new designs

SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field and licensed as a professional Engineer in the province of Ontario
  • 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred) and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, BOMs, and drafting standards
  • Experience with ERP Systems (preference to Epicor ERP)
  • Experience with Belt Winder motors and asset
  • Familiarity with mechatronic systems
  • 3+ years of Electrical/Controls Engineering experience
  • Experience with low voltage power distribution and electrical panel designs (600V)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Rockwell Software (ControlLogix, RSLinx, FTView), Siemens (Step7 v5.5, TIA Portal, WinCC)
  • PLC programming experience in Allen Bradley and/or Siemens and/or Unitronics PLCs
  • Experience with servo and VFD system design and programming is preferred
  • P Eng. Designation is an asset
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of North American electrical standards for equipment manufacturing

PURPOSE

Assume primary functional and technical responsibility to support Epicor implementations and post go-live initiatives, as part of the IT Function.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Epicor Analyst will focus on Epicor ERP systems implementation at multiple company locations as part of the implementation team.
  • Extremely proficient with the functionality of the Production and Supply Chain modules and have a solid understanding with the financial modules.
  • Work with functional business process owners and technical team members at all levels within the company, at multiple sites.
  • Monitor and execute actions necessary to maintain a stable environment for business-critical applications.
  • Collaborate with Epicor ERP Technical staff, and technical support services to diagnose, fix, and prevent ERP issues.
  • Serve as the liaison between the company and the software vendor’s technical support teams to address any issues that cannot be resolved in-house.
  • As project team member assist in developing design considerations, cost analysis, and ensuring the execution of project timelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Hands on experience in versions Kenetic.
  • Deep understanding of the Quote to Cash process, specifically within the Quoting, Sales, Job Management, Engineering, Scheduling, Inventory, and Purchasing modules.
  • Knowledge of General Ledger functions and the ability to work with accounting to troubleshoot departmental challenges.
  • Basic BAQ and Dashboard skills are desired.
  • Experience in Multi Company/Site environment.
  • Previous implementation experience is an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent related field experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Epicor ERP.
  • Hands on experience in documentation and procedure writing.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills/ability to discuss technical objectives to non-technical user community.
  • Team player with good interpersonal/customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Travel to other facilities (domestic and international) may be required on an occasional basis.
  • Remote working arrangement.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) would be an asset.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds to customer inquiries regarding safety data sheets, product instructions or brochures requests. Manages web-based inquiries, directing customer questions and quote requests to the appropriate party. For returning/regular customers, generates sales orders including product pricing and availability.
  • Follow up and provide status update on sales orders supporting the sales team.
  • Be the “go to person” for troubleshooting sales orders, sales support and Epicor inquiries.
  • Responsible for the coordination and movement of domestic and international freight to ensure an exceptional customer experience with a timely and efficient delivery of product and accurate documentation.
  • Prepares accurate export documents required by couriers and/or customs, including bill of lading and brokerage documents. Maintains up to date Harmonization codes.
  • Schedule, track and monitor both inbound and outbound shipments to ensure proper routing. Schedules carrier/courier(s) directly when shipments are ready to leave the facility.
  • Investigate courier issues and provide updates to impacted parties.
  • Manages all documentation and follow up regarding shipping and receiving.
  • Fusion inventory control: monitoring material usage and communicate requirements to purchasing; follow up on orders.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Highschool or College diploma in a technical/business program
  • Material Management and/or Supply Chain Management courses will be a great asset.
