Description

WORKING HOURS: Monday - Friday
SALARY: $29.50 per hour
STATUS: Full Time, Permanent
LOCATION(S): On-Site (Parry Sound, ON)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MIG/TIG welding and metal finishing
  • Works with various metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and sheet metal
  • Read and interpret weld symbols and blueprints
  • Ability to set up and adjust welder (heat, speed, feed, etc.)
  • Proficient with hand and measuring tools (hammer, saw, caliper, square, grinder, etc.)
  • Ability to use secondary machines such as drill press, shear, saw, etc.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on production line machinery or tools
  • Material handling of bar stock or sheet stock
  • Ensure all safety protocols are observed while maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.
  • Timely and professional communication with management on the status of daily tasks and requests.
  • Responsible for quality control. Make necessary adjustments to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications (check with supervisors)
  • Operate forklift, overhead cranes, or mobile yard cranes (if qualified)

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience with aluminum welding processes.
  • Welding certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick.
  • Strong knowledge of metal fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform tasks that require manual labor.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Overtime and shift work may be required
