Almex Belt Brakes are the most sophisticated and state of the art in the world. By the very nature of a belt brake, it must prevent catastrophic events and so only the highest quality components are used with redundant backups designed into the units. Belt Clamps are available with Hydraulic/spring design which in the case of failure will clamp shut on the conveyer belt securing it safely.
Applications for belt brakes have unique requirements based upon the length of the conveyor, the width of conveyor belt, the slope of the belt and the amount of conveyor being installed. Almex’s engineers undertake detailed finite element analysis and strain calculations to ensure that units able to withstand the loads that will be exerted and exceed normal safety factors.
The beams and bearing surfaces are machines to ensure extremely tight tolerances and to ensure a surface that will hold the belt without damaging the cover or carcass. There are 432 Bellville washers in a clamp set which are spring loaded to provide the sufficient force to stop and secure the conveyor belt.
The belt brakes can operate manually or can be controlled and monitored with ALMEX INTEGRATED CONTROLS or AIC System, which is monitoring pressures and inputs hundreds of times per second on a centralized control console or even wireless tablet.
